Hyderabad: Electricity demand in Telangana has reached an all-time high, exceeding the 16,000 MW mark.

In light of this, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka held a meeting with officials on Wednesday to discuss the current power supply conditions.

Officials reported that the peak electricity demand in Telangana hit 16,058 MW at 7:55 AM on February 19. This figure surpasses the previous high of 15,998 MW recorded on February 10 of this month. In addition to this, the former record of 15,623 MW set on March 8 of the previous year was also exceeded on February 5 of this year.

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka emphasised that, despite the significant rise in electricity demand, the power sector in Telangana is effectively managing consumption needs without issues. "The state government is fully equipped to ensure a reliable power supply for its citizens. Officials must regularly assess the power supply situation and implement measures to avert any shortages," he stated.
